Stained Glass Windows at Great Swamp Baptist Church in Waltersboro, SC

In 2009, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (9) new opalescent glass windows at Great Swamp Baptist Church in Waltersboro, SC. The eight sanctuary

windows (size 36" wide x 99"high with a gothic top) each contained a medallion-shaped biblical scene and a memorial plate. The transom (73" wide x 16" high) had the church name written on it. All of these windows were installed into the existing wood frames.

Unfortunately in 2011, the church had a fire and the sanctuary burned down. All of the stained glass windows were destroyed except for the transom.

In 2012, Laws Stained Glass Studios returned and provided (8) new opalescent glass windows for the new sanctuary. These windows were made to match the old windows, but included new white aluminum frames along with 1/4" Lucite acrylic as the protective covering.

In June 2012, Laws comes and installs the aluminum frames into the stud opening. OSB board is placed in the openings to keep the weather out. On the outside the frames are covered by polyethelene plastic while the brick is being layed.

Laws returns in February 2013 after the brick has been laid and the sheetrock is finished. The frames are sealed to the brick with caulk. The opalescent glass windows are set on the inside and 1/4" Lucite acrylic is installed on the outside.
