Hand-Stained Glass Windows at First Baptist Church in Sylva, NC
In 2009, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (10) stained glass windows at the First Baptist Church in Sylva, NC. All of the windows are hand-stained and leaded. Eight of the windows measured 61" wide by 182" high with a round top. Each of these windows had a 28" x 42" medallion depicting a scene from the "Life of Christ" series. The two smaller windows measured 33" x 66 and contain a 12" x 15" one-piece medallion with a biblical scene.
Laws removed the existing steel frames and glass. Laws installed 1-3/4" new dark bronze aluminum frames with 1/4" Lucite acrylic on the outside as the protective covering.
In 2014, Laws Stained Glass Studios returned and installed two windows (size 48" x 88"). These windows did not contain stained glass because they are not seen from the inside. They just contained dark bronze aluminum angle frames and 1/4" grey tinted Acrylite to help match the other windows.
