Stained Glass Windows at Evans Chapel AME Zion Church in Siler City, NC
In 2016, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (15) opalescent glass windows at Evans Chapel AME Zion Church in Siler City, NC. Eight of the twelve main windows (size 44" wide x 77" high) contained 12" round Biblical scenes while the other four had a cross design. The two smaller windows (size 36" wide x 78" high) had a cross. All of the windows had memorial plates. The transom (size 64" wide x 17" high) has the church name with the pastor's name at the bottom.
Laws began the installation by removing the existing steel frames and installing new dark bronze aluminum frames into the brick openings. On the interior, the leaded glass window was set, and on the exterior, 1/4" Lucite acrylic was installed as the protective covering. The leaded transom was installed into the existing wood frame and had 1/4" Lucite put on the outside.
