Opalescent Glass Windows at Second Baptist Church in Erie, PA
In 2011, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (8) stained glass windows (60" wide x 108" high) at the Second Baptist Church in Erie, PA. All of the windows are opalescent glass and leaded. Each window contained a 18" x 26" hand-stained glass medallion with a scene from the "Life of Christ" series. Each window received a new dark bronze aluminum frame and 1/4" Lucite as the protective covering.
Laws removed the existing steel frames along with the block glass. Laws installed the new dark bronze aluminum frame into the masonry opening. On the outside, Laws installed 1/4" Lucite acrylic as the protective covering. On the inside of the frame, Laws installed the leaded, opalescent glass windows.
